The Building Process

Stage One: Pre Construction Meeting

This is your chance to go through Build Now's floor plan and facade options, choose the design and discuss any modifications you may wish to make to our floor plans (for free). You will then be supplied with a preliminary costing quote by our sales consultant. We’ll also send one of our surveyors to your site to personally assess and evaluate it to maximise the usage and the best design for your block.

Stage Two: Deposit & Plan Drawing

Once you approve any changes to the original design concept and costing of your home, a $1,500 deposit is required to start moving forward to building your home. A site inspection will be conducted on your block of land to determine if any site costs are applicable. Your Build Now Consultant will be issued with a site cost sheet at which time they will explain to you any applicable costs (if any). A site survey will check the contours of your land, and an engineer’s soil test will enable us to provide final pricing for your slab. A letter will be sent along with a copy of the engineer’s soil test and slab design so you are fully aware of any additional costs for the slab work. Then an initial plan drawing is created to reflect any changes you desire to your home.

Stage Three: Building Approval

Your “Client Check Plan” will be delivered to you. It confirms that you’re happy with all the changes made. You may be required to provide your land developer with a copy of this plan for their approval. Once approved and your signed “Client Check Plan” has been received by Build Now, your design will be sent to our private certifier for building approval. Our engineer then creates the final structural bracing and tie down drawings.

Stage Four: Colour Selection

While we’re busy dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, you get to do the fun part! At this stage you’ll  meet with our colour consultant and choose all your external and internal colours and inclusions. Any additional items you might like are easy to arrange so that your home fits your dream home picture in your mind perfectly.

Stage Five: Contract Signing

Once all the decisions about customising your home have been made, your contract documents are drawn up so you can sign off and we can get started! The Building Services Authority is advised and your insurance is paid. This enables our private certifier to release your building approval.

Stage Six: Construction Begins

Within 30 days of documentation being returned, the construction of your new home will be underway. Typically you’ll see the slab go down, the frame go up and the roof put on within one month. Following that will be wiring, plumbing and security installed behind the walls. Then we’ll do the brickwork; install the external surfaces and internal plaster. You’ll then start to see your home take shape as your colour and inclusions choices begin appearing in the cabinetry, tiling, painting and fitting of lights and appliances.

Stage Seven: Personalised Service

Throughout construction you’ll have direct contact with your building supervisor. He will provide you with weekly updates on the progress of your home including photos. You will be guided through our building process so nothing is forgotten. Upon your request you will be given the contact details of our sub-contractors so you can liaise with them directly and customise your home. It is activities like these where you will be involved to interact in building your beautiful new home.

Stage Eight: Completion and Handover

Two weeks prior to formal handover you and your building supervisor will walk through your new home. At this time, you’ll be invited to make a list of final fixes to which will be actioned to your satisfaction. After all the finer touch ups have been completed and approvals met we will then be ready to handover your beautiful new home! For extra piece of mind we ensure there is also a scheduled inspection to discuss any maintenance issues that may have popped 6 months after the handover. You also have the satisfaction of our Seven Year Structural Warranty.
